So you are not considered skinny but you are also not considered plus size. Then you are probably wondering What type of body do I have?
Well, let me tell you that you must likely have a mid-size body. A less talked about community with a lack of representation and lots of struggles.
The definition of mid-size
Let’s start off by talking about what even is considered a mid-size body. If you want to talk labels and numbers a mid-size is the sizes 8-14 but some companies say 8-12. Some people might even say to have a mid-size body there are specific body measurements. However mid-size body is more a range of different body types that are in-between the conventional categories “straight” and “plus size”.
Community
The mid-size community is one of the less talked about communities when it comes to body types. However, the community is starting to have more of a spotlight through certain women like influencers who are starting to fight with this categories. These women are paving the way for other mid-size women.
Struggles for the community
It is hard to know to understand what type of body you have if there is a lack of representation for it. This a statement that I feel like a lot of mid-size women can agree with. The representation for this community is low even in brands that claim to be body-inclusive. It is hard to find our sizes in stores so we have to buy online. The problem with that is that even then it can be hard to find your size and if you are a visual person it makes it even harder.
